“I need to make a new hire…”

Not-For-Profit | HR Template Shop + HR Advisory Calls

  • We were referred to the NFP Client based on the services workchapters had provided to one the Board members in another capacity.

  • The NFP Client was expanding and hiring a new employee, so they needed a cost-effective and legally compliant employment contract. They needed the contract quickly as they had already made an offer of employment to the candidate and were looking to onboard them within a couple of weeks.

  • The NFP Client purchased a template employment contract from the workchapters HR Template Shop, and then booked a HR Advisory Call online to seek advice from workchapters to confirm which Modern Award would apply to the new employee. Following positive experiences with both these services, the NFP Client also sought assistance from  workchapters to prepare a Company Policy Handbook.

Our directors and new CEO have appreciated the value workchapters has added... So glad to have met you through the [X] group!  Look forward to continuing to work with you.’  Board Member

“I need to exit an employee…”

High-Growth VC Funded Start-Up | HR Advice + Projects

  • Client needed advice and guidance on how to manage an employee exit.

  • The Client had an urgent need for ‘sounding board’ HR advice as the employee in question was days away from probation ending, so timing was crucial.  Additional complicating issues arose, with the employee taking personal leave during performance improvement plan discussions.

  • Client booked a consultation call, followed by short written advice to confirm next steps.  workchapters prepared key correspondence to the employee, including talking points for the Managers and some Q&A prompts to ensure the Managers were comfortable in handling any ‘tricky questions’ (e.g. ensuring periods of excess leave were appropriately processed, and ensuring steps were taken to protect company assets (including valuable IP)).

Thanks again for your help.  We're hoping everything is finalised [and] hoping everyone can move on. It will be good to circle back on further support from workchapters some time later this quarter.  Thanks again for your help with everything.’ Co-Founder

“I need help with an unfair dismissal…”

Hospitality Client | HR Advice + Projects

  • Hospitality Client needed urgent assistance with a Fair Work Unfair Dismissal Claim.

  • A significant amount of historical information and documentation needed to be collated in a short amount of time.  Paying an employment lawyer to do this ‘grunt work’ at the legal charge out rate would have cost a significant amount of money given the high charge out rates.

  • We split the work between our HR and Employment Law specialists for maximum efficiency and cost savings.  Our HR Team did all the groundwork of obtaining, collating and organising all required/key information so that a clear and comprehensive brief with a timeline of events and all supporting documentation could be provided to our Employment Lawyer advising on the matter.  This ensured much of the information gathering, reviewing of historical documents (including employment arrangements, timesheets, messages between the employee and manager etc.), could be requested, collated, reviewed and a clear, succinct brief provided to a specialised employment lawyer, who was able to advise the client on best next steps across a 30-60 minute period for a competitive fixed fee via the online HR Advisory Call service.

“I need a HR Contractor for 12 months…”

Global FMCG Client | Contractors + Recruitment

  • The Head of People & Culture of a large FMCG client needed a contractor for parental leave cover.

  • The Client needed to find a contractor urgently as they had not been able to source a suitable contractor through traditional recruitment means, so they reached out to workchapters to source a suitable short-term resource, with timing becoming critical as the parental leave cover was due to commence in a number of weeks. Due to the importance of the role within the business, it was essential that the contractor was able to ‘hit the ground running’ and be operational from day one.

  • workchapters sourced an experienced HR People Director from their Contractor Community to cover the parental leave role, well in time to allow for a period of handover.  As the contractor was very senior and experienced across a broad range of people issues both locally and internationally, they were able to successfully fulfil the role on a part-time basis for a 12-month period.

‘Thank you for taking away all my stress finding the right backfill to cover my maternity leave. It really made the world of difference to me.’ Head of People + Culture

“I need Respect@Work Training…”

Financial Services Client | HR Advice + Projects + HR Template Shop

  • The Client wanted to ensure they were compliant with the new Respect@Work legislation, and to ensure that their staff members understood their obligations.

  • The General Counsel was extremely stretched and wanted to ensure that a compliance framework was rolled out across the group of companies. They needed a fast solution to develop a risk assessment and compliance framework, and needed a mix of in-person and online Respect@Work training sessions to be delivered to staff located in different locations across Victoria and New South Wales.

  • The client purchased the workchapters template Sexual Harassment Risk and Compliance Toolkit from the workchapters HR Template Shop to be used as a base for addressing compliance obligations and identifying any risks. They also engaged  workchapters to deliver a series of bespoke Respect@Work Training Sessions to staff both in person, and remotely via Teams.  Following positive feedback, workchapters have been approached to provide additional workshops for key business units.

Thanks so much for all the work you and the team put in to deliver this successfully for us. The feedback I’ve had has all been incredibly positive.’ General Counsel
